Yorkshire Pudding Style Tacos – allthingsfood_
Create this taco recipe with a Yorkshire pudding twist 🌮 It’s the perfect dish to impress your friends and tuck into al fresco!
The ingredients include; 4x TRYPC large gluten-free Yorkshire puddings, 225g steak, 1 tbsp butter for basting. For the chimichurri sauce; 1/2 cup chopped parsley, 3 chopped cloves of garlic, 1 tsp dried oregano, 2 tsp chilli flakes or red pepper flakes, 3 tbsp red wine vinegar, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper and 2/3 cup olive oil or extra virgin. Then for the cabbage slaw, you will need; 1/2 white cabbage, shredded, pinch of salt (to taste), juice of 1/2 lime and 15/20g coriander, finely chopped.
For this recipe, you’ll need to:
- Start off by adding the chopped parsley, garlic, oregano, chilli flakes, red wine vinegar, salt and pepper to a bowl and mix.
- Next, pour the oil over the mixture. Combine and allow the chimichurri to stand for 15 minutes.
- Then, add your shredded cabbage to a bowl, adding the juice of 1/2 a lime and your chopped coriander. Season with salt to taste.
- Bring the steak to room temperature, pat dry and generously season with salt and pepper.
- Add the steak to a hot pan, then cook for 6 minutes for medium-rare, or to your liking, turning every minute.
- Then add a knob of butter to baste the steak once both sides have a crisp edge.
- Once cooked to your liking, rest the steak on a plate that can collect the juices for 2 minutes.
- Whilst the steak is resting, preheat your oven to 180°C and place the Yorkshire puddings on a baking tray and into the oven for 5 minutes.
- Carve the steak and save those resting juices to pour on top when serving.
- Now to assemble. Add a forkful of cabbage into the Yorkshire pudding, topped by some juicy steak then drizzle with some of the left-over resting juices.
- Finally pour over as much herby chimichurri as desired.
