Our Guide To Celebrating Yorkshire Day

Our Guide To Celebrating Yorkshire Day

Blog

Yorkshire – a county famed for many things; tea, beer, cheese and of course the humble Yorkshire Pudding! When was the last time you stopped to appreciate everything this beautiful county has brought to the world? We’ve got the perfect date in the diary – 1st August, Yorkshire Day. Here are our favourite ways to make your day as Yorkshire as it can be.

The soundtrack
Yorkshire may not be the first place you think of when it comes to music, but we’ve cranked out some corkers over the years when it comes to good tunes. Whack on some Kaiser Chiefs, Mel B and Louis Tomlinson and sing your heart out along to Yorkshire’s finest.

But what are you going to eat? We’ve got you covered…

The scran
What’s coming next probably won’t be a surprise to you! Of course, the pride and joy of Yorkshire are getting served up for dinner – yorkies. Cover them with lashings of gravy and add a slab of your favourite meat inside and you’ve got a bite-size meal ready and waiting for you. 🤤

It wouldn’t be a celebration without dessert, right? Have you ever tried a pudfiterole? If not, why not? Whip up some cream until it’s light and fluffy, scoop it into your puds then drizzle as much chocolate as you can take on top. Simply perfection.

The gifts
Yorkshire Day is Yorkshire’s biggest day of celebration, so it’s only right that gifts are given to your nearest and dearest. Maybe you should pick up a Yorkshire pudding bedding set – although don’t blame us if it leaves you dreaming of Yorkshire puds all night long!

At The Real Yorkshire Pudding Co, we’re celebrating Yorkshire Day in a bigger way than ever! Find us on Facebook to enter our daily giveaways for the chance to win a load of Yorkshire-themed prizes, and make sure to grab your puds for the big day from Waitrose, Asda, Morrisons or Ocado.
